How To Stay Motivated To Workout In Winter

Struggle to stay motivated with your workouts in winter? We get it, sis. It can be hard to drag yourself out of bed and do a workout on these cold, dark days. But with all the benefits of exercise, it’s important not to stop working out altogether.

We’ve put together some winter workout tips to keep you moving!

🔥 Warm Up

You should always warm-up, regardless of the season. But it’s especially important to prepare properly for winter workouts. Dynamic warm-ups and activation increase blood flow and temperature in the muscles to help decrease the risk of injuries.

👭 Train With A GF

If you’re struggling to stay motivated (we get it!) find a friend to workout with. You’re much less likely to hit snooze and bail on a workout if you’ve got your bestie waiting for you.

🤸‍♀️ Mix Up Your Routine

Winter has its challenges, but there’s always a way around them. Too dark? Try exercising during your lunch break to make the most of the daylight. Weather too bad? Move your workout indoors, either at the gym or even just in your lounge room! (We have a bunch of home workouts in THE BOD App for occasions like this!)

👟 Dress Dry

Having wet fabric against your skin will pull heat away from your body, leaving you cold and miserable! Layer up and avoid cotton – it soaks up sweat and rain and holds in moisture.

🥕 Boost Your Immune System

Amp up your immune-support foods to give yourself the best nutritional advantage when it comes to fighting colds and flu this winter. Our Teriyaki Salmon Poke Bowl is packed with omega-3 fatty acids, vitamins and minerals to heal and nourish your body, plus it’s the perfect feel-good recipe to whip up in minutes and keep you powering on throughout the day.
