Salted Date Caramel Balls

A nourishing, no-bake snack that feels like a treat! These Salted Date Caramel Balls are rich, satisfying, and full of whole-food ingredients. Perfect for a mid-afternoon pick-me-up or something sweet after dinner.

They’re super simple to make, freezer-friendly, and a total hit in our household. Keep a stash in the freezer for when the 3pm cravings hit. You’ll thank yourself later!

Prep + Cook Time: 20 minutes
Makes: 15 balls

Ingredients

  • 310 g fresh dates, pitted
  • 150 g coconut oil
  • 25 g cacao powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp extra coconut oil (at room temperature)
  • ½ tsp sea salt flakes
  • 50 g coconut flour

Method

  1. Place dates in a medium bowl and cover with boiling water. Let sit for 10 minutes to soften, then drain and discard the water.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the melted coconut oil and sifted cacao powder. Set aside to slightly thicken.
  3. In a food processor, blend the softened dates, vanilla extract, extra coconut oil, and sea salt until smooth.
  4. Transfer the mixture to a bowl, cover, and freeze for 30 minutes or until firm.
  5. Line a tray with baking paper.
  6. With damp hands, roll tablespoons of the mixture into balls.
  7. Roll each ball in coconut flour, then coat in the cacao mixture.
  8. Place on the tray, sprinkle with extra sea salt flakes, and freeze for 10 minutes or until set.
