What to do when you lose yourself...

What to do when you lose yourself...

This is a harder one to write, that is for sure!

In my recent YouTube video, I opened up about some of the personal challenges I’ve been facing, particularly around setting goals, following through, and feeling misaligned with my purpose after not being able to do the things I love.

Today’s blog dives deeper into these struggles and shares how I’m navigating these rough waters to find clarity and alignment in both my personal and professional life.

Setting Goals and Reflecting on the Journey

Starting at 00:22 in the video, I discuss the importance of setting goals and the introspective process of reflecting on them. Setting goals is more than just a task—it’s a commitment to ourselves and our future. However, as I’ve learned firsthand, it’s not uncommon to set goals and then struggle with follow-through. This can stem from goals that don’t resonate on a deeper level or from a misalignment between our daily actions and our long-term aspirations.

The Role of Training in Maintaining Focus

At 02:25, we jumped into a leg training session, which is always a great reminder of the discipline required to achieve our goals. Training isn’t just about physical health; it’s about mental and emotional resilience. It teaches us about determination, consistency, and the need to push through even when things are tough.

Post-Training Debrief: A Moment of Clarity

Following the workout, at 05:25, I took some time to debrief, reflecting on the session and how it parallels the challenges I face with goal attainment. This moment of clarity is crucial as it helps me understand the importance of aligning every action with the bigger picture of what I want to achieve.

Living in Alignment: Health is Wealth

Perhaps the most profound part of the discussion starts at 06:25, where I talk about living in alignment. The phrase "Health is Wealth" truly encapsulates this sentiment. To me, living in alignment means that your actions, goals, and purposes are in sync. It means your physical, emotional, and spiritual health are aligned, fostering an environment where you can thrive.

Overcoming Misalignment and Lack of Purpose

Feeling misaligned can lead to a sense of lack of purpose, as I’ve recently experienced. It’s disheartening and can lead to a cycle of unproductivity and dissatisfaction. Here’s how I am addressing these feelings:

  • Re-evaluating Goals: I’m taking time to ensure my goals truly resonate with my values and what I want to achieve in life, not just what I think I should be achieving.
  • Incorporating Mindfulness: Practices like meditation and journaling have been instrumental in helping me stay connected to my daily actions and how they help me progress towards my larger goals.
  • Seeking Support: Talking to friends, family, or a professional can provide new perspectives and encouragement when feeling stuck.
  • Allowing Flexibility: Understanding that it’s okay to shift goals as I grow and learn has been freeing and aligning.

Inviting You to Join the Journey

I share these personal insights not just to offer transparency, but to encourage you, my community, to take a closer look at your own paths. Are you setting goals that truly matter to you? Are your daily actions helping you move towards what you genuinely want?

Let’s embrace this journey together, supporting each other in finding true alignment and purpose in all that we do. Remember, it’s not about perfection; it’s about progress and alignment.

Thank you for being here, for sharing this space with me, and for always supporting each other in our community.

With all my love,

Head Coach, Sophie x
